MacuShield Original+ Omega 3 is a food supplement for eye health* containing Lutein, Zeaxanthin and Meso-zeaxanthin, as well as omega 3 and Vitamin B2, which are each proven to help maintain normal vision*. Research shows that the macular carotenoids - Lutein, Meso-Zeaxanthin and Zeaxanthin - are found at the back of the eye, in the macula. The macula is a sensitive part of the eye that is responsible for detailed, central vision. Here, the macular carotenoids form the macula pigment, which looks like a yellow spot at the back of the eye. The body can’t make macular carotenoids, so we have to consume them in our diet. The macular carotenoids used within MacuShield are obtained from Marigolds (Tagetus Erecta), which have been specifically grown for this purpose. MacuShield Original+ Omega 3 contains 250mg of DHA, the type of Omega 3 fatty acid which has been scientifically proven to help maintain normal vision*. The beneficial effect is obtained with a daily intake of 250mg of DHA – which is achieved in just one of our soft gel capsules a day.
